Have fishing pics from your latest great trip? If you went across the state or across the country tell us about it here.
One of the best ways to have someone believe your fish stories is to have the fishing pics to prove it.
One of the trips I have been planning to do when I started to fly fish was to the Black Canyon for the salmonfly hatch. We started the trip by driving from Grand Junction in to Montrose and stopped at the local shop. Good thing we stopped because we found out the hatch was no where near where we were planning to hike in. We decided on the conservation area after getting some of the local patterns.
We stayed on the south rim of the Black Canyon that night and fished the east portal. The wind would not give up so it was hard to keep the line in the water.
The next day we drove to conservation area and hiked down Duncan trail and were on the water by noon. The best part of the trip was being 100 feet from the water and falling asleep to the sound of it. The salmonflies were everywhere and although the trout were not rising steadily I was still able to get a couple with a dry pattern.
You are only allowed to stay for two days in the conservation area and it rained and hailed on us on the hike out. It was a great trip and we were already planning next years trip on the hike out.
Here are some of my other favorite fishing pics.
