A Little About Me!

My name is Adam Omernick and I have always loved fishing. Some of my earliest memories are of getting up early on a weekend to get out on the water before dawn. We would fish for bass and trout off of a little bass boat in some of the local lakes in San Diego. We moved into saltwater fishing as I got older but I do not do so well in the rolling ocean.

After moving to Colorado I did some more lake fishing but was interested in trying something new. One Christmas I mentioned to my wife that I wanted to try fly fishing and she bought me the book "The Art and Science of Fly Fishing". My friend gave me one of his old rods and I went to Wal-Mart and bought a Shakespeare fly reel. It was all down hill from there.

Fly fishing is what I do, forsaking all other hobbies. Don't get me wrong; bass, trout, walleye, catfish, I love all kinds of fishing. I would rather do it with a fly rod.

Over the years I found that I really like getting people into their first fish. My wife and son were the first victims as well as neighbors and friends. I wanted to share what I have learned over the years and help the people who bought the gear then stuck it in the closet in frustration.

I started a free meetup so people can learn from each other and I can try to give some instructions along the way. Teaching people has helped me increase my own angling skills and given me the opportunity to fish with the great people.
