North Platte River, Walden to the Colorado border

The North Platte river is formed by the confluence of Grizzly and Little Grizzly creek in the North Park area of Steamboat springs. The more famous fisheries in Wyoming are Grey Reefs and the Miracle Mile. The St. Peter's fly shop in Fort Collins offers guide services into these areas and if you put in with a drift boat it would be wise to have a wyoming and Colorado license. A good place to start is the Brownlee and Verner SWA areas where the average trout is over twelve inches. There is additional access available above the CR6W bridge. Some other rivers in the area are the Michigan and the Illinois which have six miles of access at Diamond J SWA and Murphy SWA with five miles.
